Usage Permissions

This page includes various rules and requests related to works found on this website. If you're only here to play with my works as normal, most of what's outlined here may not apply to you. However, if you intend to make fanworks, feature requests, modifications to, or redistributions of my works, this section has the information you need!

If terms on this page conflict with those found in a work's [readme.txt] or other documentation, then the terms here take priority, except in the case of freeshells. For questions, clarifications, or requests for permissions not covered here, I can be contacted through the social media links in the footer at the bottom of the page.

If you are reading this page through machine translation, here is an explanation of the terms used in the sections below:

• "You Must": These are things that are required when using my works.
• "You May": These are things that are optional when using my works.
• "You Must Not": These are things that are forbidden when using my works.
• "OK ✓": This is acceptable.
• "NG ✗": This is prohibited.

Collaborations

• All collaborative works must be treated according to the permissions and terms of each participating developer.
• If the developers of a work have conflicting terms, then priority is given to the more restrictive.
  • EX. 1: If Collaborator A requires credit and a note that a balloon has been modified before it can be bundled with your ghost, but Collaborator B only requires credit, then you must include both credit and a modification note as per Collaborator A's wishes.
  • EX. 2: If Collaborator A allows their ghosts to be modified and redistributed with these modifications, but Collaborator B does not allow any redistribution of their works, then you must not redistribute the work with or without modifications as per Collaborator B's wishes.
• If one or more developers of a work have no terms available, then you must request explicit permission for any modifications, redistributions, translations, etc.
• When crediting a collaborative work, you must credit all collaborators of that work.

Balloons

You Must

• Leave the [craftman] and [craftmanw] information within [descript.txt] unaltered.
  • As an exception, they may be modified when combining multiple balloons together.
• Include credits for a balloon (modified or unmodified) in the [readme.txt] when redistributing it as a bundle with your ghost.
  • I can be credited as "Galla" alongside the following link: https://gallathegalla.github.io/gtg-ghosts/
• Modified versions of a balloon must include a note indicating that it has been modified from its original version.
  • If the balloon includes credits to additional resources used to create it, they must be credited as well.
  • If the balloon includes additional readme or license files for assets used (such as the font), they must be included as well.
• Modified versions of a balloon must have their name and directory changed, as to not overwrite the original when installed.
• Modified balloons must receive permission before being distributed separately. To acquire permission, I can be contacted through the links in the footer, or by submitting a review to the balloon in question.

You May

• Combine a balloon with other balloons.
• Redistribute a balloon (modified or unmodified) as a bundle with your ghost.
• Modify a balloon to better suit your needs. Allowed modifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Adding or removing sizes
  • Adding or removing tails
  • Adjusting designs for specific characters
  • Adjusting wordwrap and valid text areas
  • Changing colors
  • Changing markers
  • Font changes
  • Font size adjustments
  • Mirroring images
  • Resizing images

You Must Not

• Redistribute an unmodified balloon separately.
  • As an exception, balloons that have been unavailable for a full year, either bundled with a ghost or as a separate download, may be redistributed.
• Modify any balloon materials (images, code) with generative AI tools, or use them as training data for generative AI.

Calendars

You Must

• Leave the [craftman] and [craftmanw] information within [descript.txt] unaltered.
• Include credits for a calendar (modified or unmodified) in the [readme.txt] when redistributing it as a bundle with your ghost.

  • Number alterations
  • Mirroring images

You Must Not

• Redistribute an unmodified calendar separately.

• Modify any calendar materials (images, code) with generative AI tools, or use them as training data for generative AI.

Freeshells

This section covers shells created for free and open use. For shells created for specific ghosts, see Shells.

You Must

• Leave the [craftman] and [craftmanw] information within [descript.txt] unaltered.
  • As an exception, they may be modified when combining multiple freeshells together.
• Include credits for a freeshell (modified or unmodified) in the [readme.txt] when using it for your ghost.
  • I can be credited as "Galla" alongside the following link: https://gallathegalla.github.io/gtg-ghosts/
• Leave the shell's [readme.txt] file unedited. You may rename it as needed.
• Modified versions of a freeshell must include a note indicating that it has been modified from its original version.

You May

• Combine a freeshell with other freeshells.
• Modify a freeshell's settings files in any way you need.
• Modify a freeshell's image assets to better suit your needs. Allowed modifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Changing colors
  • Combining images
  • Cropping images
  • Deleting images
  • Drawing new images
  • Mirroring images
  • Resizing images
• Use a freeshell to create a thumbnail or promotional image for your project, such as previews for a ghost's release page.
• Use a freeshell for projects unrelated to ukagaka.
  • If desired, feel free to share your projects with me! I can be contacted through the links in the footer, or by submitting a review to the freeshell that you used!

You Must Not

• Use a freeshell to create commercial works.
• Redistribute a freeshell separately.
  • As an exception, freeshells that have been unavailable for a full year may be redistributed.
• Modify a freeshell to include discriminatory content, or use it in works that contain such content.
• Modify any freeshell materials (images, code) with generative AI tools, or use them as training data for generative AI.

Ghosts

This section uses an adapted version of the Ghost Copyright Awareness list.

About secondary works (fanart, fanmerch, etc.)

  • IMPORTANT: Many of my works are made in collaboration with Zichqec. Secondary works based on these collaborative ghosts must not contain NSFW of any kind.
  • For other collaborative works, please refer to the permissions of other participating devs before creating secondary works that include NSFW content.
  • Please make sure that you include easily visible content warnings!

Permissions of shells I create follow the same rules as collaborative works with the creator of the ghost the shell is intended for. Additionally, shells I create use the same permissions as my ghosts. Please be sure to check all relevant terms from all devs involved before modifying, redistributing, creating secondary works, etc.

Works I have created shells for

• You may list my shell on your ghost's webpage, blog post, etc.
  • Please link to the shell's page on my website. If you wish to avoid sharing potential spoilers, please link to my Shell Index page.
  • If the shell does not have a page on my website, please link to its releases page on Github.
  • If neither is available, please contact me through the links in the footer.
• You may bundle shells I make with your ghost, under the following terms:
  • You must credit me in your ghost's [readme.txt] file.
    • I can be credited as "Galla" alongside the following link: https://gallathegalla.github.io/gtg-ghosts/
  • You must not make any modifications to the shell without explicit permission.
    • If you would like to request a modification to a shell, or to obtain permission to modify the shell yourself, feel free to contact me through the links in the footer, or by submitting a review to the shell in question.
